Interstate Electrical Services discusses integrating RIVET with Viewpoint Spectrum

The integration unlocks real-time labor utilization

Integrating a software platform is daunting. There are seemingly countless moving parts. Getting everything right is crucial to minimizing downtime and starting the journey to improved Labor Productivity. Massachusetts-based Interstate Electrical Services is a family owned business with almost 800 in the field, and knows this firsthand.

Project delays are a major concern at the company. Interstate’s VP of Technology Steve Drouin needed a tool where he could adjust Labor Plans and Schedules accordingly. Something that would easily integrate with his ERP that pulls from 14 other applications.

He chose RIVET.

“Delays happen, and they tighten up the schedule for everybody. We need to be able to manage that, and this tool allows us to,” Drouin said.

Drouin compares project estimates to labor actuals by integrating the RIVET Workforce Management platform with Viewpoint Spectrum, a Trimble product.

Connecting to an ERP is a complex process with lots of questions from both sides. There are the expected IT configurations, of course, but having the proper documentation and processes plays a huge part in efficient onboarding as well.

“With RIVET’s instructions and our own experience, we were up and running in two weeks,” Drouin said.

Integrations, Labor Planning and RIVET’s Communication features played big factors in his decision, but they weren’t the only reasons Interstate adopted RIVET. The platform’s intuitive user interface and support from the Customer Success team helped, too.

“A lot of companies refer you back to your ERP support” when you hit a hiccup, Drouin said. “RIVET had a plan in place and the steps to take.”
