Taking a look back at where we’ve been and what we’ve done.
It’s been a whirlwind year at RIVET. We’ve been all over the country meeting contractors where they are and having candid conversations about their biggest problems. Whether it was at a trade show – we went to 19 of those – an on-site visit for an implementation or case study, those valuable insights help shape our platform. Let’s take a look back.
1. We published the Workforce Management Blueprint
Our free eBook became a top download on our website. The book is the result of hundreds of contractors sharing their experiences on proven labor management practices that are transformative for business growth.
2. We assembled our first contractor champion group
With the help of construction leaders, we’ve assembled a group of RIVET super users to guide us in creating impactful software solutions fine-tuned to self-performing contractors. We call them the RIVET Workforce Management Champions.
3. Our contractors shared their business outcomes
This summer, we traveled west to meet with Duro Electric Company and Tessiers Mechanical Contractors to learn more about how they’re using our Workforce Management platform to increase Labor Productivity and job profitability.
“Moving to RIVET really changed how effective we could be at getting our jobs done,” Operations Manager Bill Rome said. “Even if the rest of my day goes to shit, [RIVET] seems to be at least one piece that works for me and doesn’t break.”
“The idea of being a project leader and not a project watcher,” Vice President Bill DeNet said, “that requires that amount of communication and a tool to influence that. So our field leaders can see where the roadmap is, and be aligned with the PM on what the plan is.”
4. We earned the Construction Executive Top Tech award
This year we were named one of Construction Executive‘s top tech companies. We were featured in three categories:
• Workforce Management
• Field Dispatch and Field Service Management
• Project Management, Collaboration and Scheduling
5. We expanded the RIVET platform… a ton
The RIVET platform changed in a couple of big ways too. Now our Workforce Management platform features real-time Labor Requests and notifications. Labor Plans got a big upgrade too, with automatic suggestions for field employees and role ratios.
6. We achieved SOC 2 certification
We hit a major security milestone this year, too: SOC Type II compliance. Along with NIST, ISO and CCPA certifications. Learn more at the RIVET Trust Center.
7. Construction experts joined our team
Changing careers is daunting. After 23 years working construction, our Implementations Manager Dustin Acker made the jump from construction to construction tech. He still works with contractors every day, but now it’s from a different perspective.
8. We started a street fight with spreadsheets
Spreadsheets weren’t designed with Workforce Management in mind. They’ll get you so far, then they start holding you back. If you’re still using them to manage labor, here’s 17 reasons you should stop.
9. We closed a fundraising round
Our funding round earlier this year was instrumental in our mission to bring better Workforce Management to more contractors.
10. We launched Construction is Hard Season 2
Oh, and we launched season two of Construction is Hard. Brian and Gary cover a bunch of topics like detailing, and squandering the superintendent. All episodes are available now.
11. We hosted a Workforce Management webinar training series
Our Workforce Management webinar training series is a great way to learn core RIVET workflows. Contractors joined us to share best practices from the field and how they use the platform.
12. We produced Labor Planning & Productivity educational webinars
We produced a number of webinars with leading trade media groups and publications, as well.
13. We had the best team in construction
At RIVET, we’re dedicated not only to our contractors, but to each other. RIVET wouldn’t be what it is without the people. It’s that simple. We welcomed new faces this year! And we celebrated some pretty big milestones together, too. We can’t wait to show you what comes next.
